They are laying people off in divisions they are closing for not being profitable. Like the widely reported Alexa layoffs.
The truth is tech companies are on the edge of a big recession and they are undoing some of their pandemic growth. Its not evil – its the economy slowing down. Consider how house prices and used car prices have already come down.
