An unborn baby has fully developed their own unique fingerprints after 6 months of development.

These fingerprints begin development as early as the second and third month of pregnancy, when the fetus is still 1-3.5 inches in size! In 6 months time, the fingerprints and footprints are already fully formed, though the rest of the baby still has a lot of growing to do. These fingerprints come about when the middle layer of skin starts to outgrow inner dermis and epidermis skin layers, causing folds.
