CEOs earn 343 times more than regular employees.

In 2010 the average salary for CEOs of some of America’s largest companies was a whopping $11.4 million. That figure is 343 times greater than the $33,190 paid to typical workers back in 2009 (the most recent year in which data is available)! The compensation of chief executives last year is also 23% greater than it was in the year previous. All of this information and more has been compiled by the AFL-CIO, the largest federation of unions in the United States. They eventually plan on posting the salaries of all CEOs for all the corporations of the S&P 500 on their website, as well as other useful wage data.
