So a little background. I (13f) am an avid fan of the TV show “Grey’s Anatomy”. I have watched all 18 seasons of the show at least 5 times (except for the scenes with Owen, which I always fast forward through). Because of this, I have a very broad knowledge of the medical community, and plan to one day become a surgeon since I already have the knowledge of an attending surgeon.
Yesterday, my dad (70m) and I were at the grocery store, when he starts complaining about heartburn. Now I know from “Grey’s Anatomy” that chest pain means you go straight to the hospital. Since we live in a rural part of Alaska, however, there’s no hospital for miles, and none reachable by road. Since we wouldn’t be able to get to the hospital in time for his life saving heart surgery, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
Since we didn’t have any anesthetic in the grocery store, I hit him over the head with a frying pan (Tangled was my favorite movie as a kid). I then grabbed his pocket knife and opened him up in the middle of the frozen foods section. Despite my best attempts to save his life, the surgery was not a success and he bled out next to the frozen pizza (pepperoni) fridge.
The cops arrived and arrested me (manslaughter) after someone called the cops (they’re probably an Owen fan). My mom (30f) bailed me out, but is no longer speaking to me. My sister (6f) also said that it “wasn’t very nice” for me to do this. So now I’m wondering, AITA for preforming open heart surgery on my dad and ultimately causing his death?
