My Friend’s actual reply to me dissing Eminem

“mtbmb” was an album that had significantly deeper meaning than you mumble rap fan know. because you dont look further. eminem mastered the craft of deeper meanings and perfecting rhyme schemes. the song “tone deaf” contained a significant amount of “weird” lyrics because the point of the song, from the instrumentals to the way he describes his actions (rhyming orange with banana), its telling a story of eminem making a song while drunk. in case you havent noticed by now, I appreciate songs with more than what meets the eye. especially if that song can remain catchy while delivering surface and deeper interpretation. mumble rap fans called his work trash because they took it way too literally and way too seriously. his albums always have a sense of “looseness.” furthermore, he literally got the word “stan” into the dictionary. by himself. THAT is a cultural innovation. Let’s see what mumble rap has changed. That’s right. Nothing. The culture does not lie in music that you can’t take on the surface level nor deeper. You can’t fucking hear it at all. What you usually do hear is unthoughtful shit that you can point at and go oogabooga and nothing else. if you truly believe mumble rap is in any way shape or form superior to real, fluid, deep, and actually vibing instrumentals and lyrics of eminem- you are, objectively, a dumbass.
