The joke is pretty obvious

Haha yeah the joke is pretty obvious really. This joke doesn’t require a prolonged investigation. Lol no need for an inquisition to figure out what that means. Some philosophers claim that any one has the power to change the world but most of us are just victims of continuous accidental avoidance of situations that would otherwise lead us to produce thoughts that then produce more thoughts that guide us into great ideas. Differentiating what makes victims ,of said avoidance, and negligence is a fairly easy feat. If you drink coffee and die due to the waiter putting arsenic inside your cup you weren’t being neglectful by deciding to drink that cup of coffee. You didn’t have any previous indications that would lead you to the thought that could’ve saved your life. That also applies to regular life. A teenage girl staring at the cosmetics aisle is not to blame for doing so. Incredible amounts of social and emotional pressures sending her a barrage of insensible thoughts leading her to judge that spending excessive time and money on her outward appearance is a worthwhile venture. From the outside looking in it is insensible, but from a compatibilist point of view, that is not the entire truth. Her freedom was temporarily out of her control, just like how it is when you die from drinking coffee that you didn’t know was poisoned or when you “choose” not to change the world, for external constrains where placed upon her by contemporary culture narrowing the situations she’ll encounter ever so slightly, while narrowing the possibility of thoughts going against her emphasis on facial products by extension. Same thing goes for not understanding jokes. A joke might be understood by a certain demographic of people as a result of the actions, or experiences sprouting from said actions they chose in their life, while others with, either slight or major, differing variations in the actions they chose to take might not. All I’m saying is could you please explain that joke to me, I still dont seem to understand it and it isn’t my fault I swear
