  1. The Flemish migrations to Britain have fascinated me ever since I first learned about them some 6 months ago. Not only were there migrations to Wales but to England and Scotland as well. As a matter of fact, the surnames ‘Flanders’ and ‘Fleming’ come from Flemish migrants to Britain.

    Most of these migrants were economic migrants or Flemish soldiers who had fought for William the Conquerer.
