What was the FBI type group in the Wild West Era or around the 1860s – 1890s

Was there an equivalent of the FBI in the Wild West or around the 1860s-1890s, if so then what was it? I know that the FBI was made in 1908 so i want to know what was the Investigator or Detective type group that scared criminals, so far ive only managed to find a group of national detectives called the Pinkertons, since they appearently had spies

also Abraham Lincoln hired Pinkerton guards to protect him after he found out that they foiled a plan to assasinate him, they could do security guard stuff to private military contracting, so what do you think? Were the pinkertons the FBI of the wild west or do you think that there were other groups that deserve the title of the Wild West FBI?
