What were for you the most staggering, miraculous series of conquests/military achievements?

It could be Alexander’s Macedonian greek army composed of powerful phalanxes, of hoplites and hypaspists that marched from Athens to the deeper land of the East, destroying their biggest arch-enemy and building one of the largest empire of antiquity. Even if a simple insect was enough to stop the mighty conqueror and his legacy didn’t remain for long, his exploits aren’t to be denied…

Or even Caesar’s genius in both the military and in politics, being the “father” figure of the next 70 or so Augustus that would sit in the greatest throne of the time. Rome’s organised and disciplined army would’ve dominated the mediterranean for centuries, and be arguably the greatest influence on Western civilisation…

Or maybe the camels and swords of Islam, driven by zeal and faith, to miraculously transform a people of desert dwellers into sultans in the greatest empire seen at the time of the Dark Ages, stretching from the west to the east. The Caliph would’ve sat on the most prestigious of chairs for many centuries, and his golden age would’ve influenced the world, completing thus Mohammed’s legacy…

Or Genghiz Khan, who alone unified the Mongol nomads and through the wind on their horses from Mongolia’s steppes and plains, brought terror to any nation, people, civilisation opposing their mighty cavalry. China, Persia, and the Caliph fell under the lances of the Khan’s offsprings, bringing an entire continent under the horde’s control. Their legacy would not be the one of Caesar or Umar, but History witnessed the might of the now serene nation…

Or it can be the British Empire of Victoria who sat on the biggest chairs of all time, or Napoleon’s attempted conquest of Europe after unifying a country bloodied by the Revolution, or the Fuhrer’s german tanks and his infantry motivated by his evil ideology…
