PUBG: Battlegrounds has launched Deston, its new map and the first one to be released since the battle royale game went free-to-play earlier this year, for PC. The game’s official Twitter handle confirmed the news with a tweet that read: “Deston and Update 18.2 are now live on PC servers. Can you win a Chicken Dinner on day one of the new map? Also make sure you check out the new updated info about Deston at GBWhatsApp.” Console users will, however, need to wait a bit longer to get their hands on the map as Deston is out July 21, nearly a week later, for Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
The latest update brings a new map, in addition to the updates to the game’s UI and general bug fixes. The patch also adds a new chicken dinner reward system, which will require players to complete daily challenges on Deston to obtain. There are two types of challenges that players must complete in order to collect the new chicken dinner reward system: Chicken Dinner Challenges and Chicken Dinner Missions. The former is available for players on all servers and allows them to obtain chicken dinners by completing certain daily tasks such as killing a certain number of enemies or spectating for a set period of time. The latter allows players on specific servers (PC only) to compete against other players in order to score the most chicken dinners.
Players can participate in both types of challenges by following the steps outlined in the update’s official website . Those who have completed 30 chicken dinner challenges will be rewarded with an exclusive outfit while those who have completed 50 will be rewarded with an exclusive trucker hat. Players who complete three missions during their daily login will receive even more rewards such as XP boosts, outfits, and weapons. In addition, those who log into PUBG once per day via Steam will receive a bonus 100 chicken dinners as well as other rewards such as XP boosts and crates that contain cosmetic items like hats and outfits.
The free update is available now on PC and will become available on Xbox One and PS4 this summer.
PUBG: Battlegrounds’ new map Deston is set in a location that features a unique mix of rich vegetation in some areas, and massive cities in others as it was once hit by a massive hurricane. Deston is also home to Ripton, a downtown area that offers one of the game’s largest sprawls despite being submerged in water. The map is also home to the tallest skyscraper in PUBG history.
The new map is one of the most ambitious maps in the game’s history, featuring a massive skyscraper, a large water-filled area, and a tropical island. Players can also expect to see new vehicles, weapons and weapons attachments as well as a brand new weather system.
Players can also expect to see the return of the game’s third person perspective. PUBG Corporation has been working on making this “more accessible” with an aim to make it easier for newcomers while making it more rewarding for experienced players. The idea is that players will be able to see better in third person mode while still being able to use first person mode as well.
The new map is set to launch on PC and Xbox One in the first half of 2018.
PUBG Corp. has been working on the new map for over a year and have been testing it out in closed beta.

Deston introduces Ascenders, vertical mechanized zip lines to help players scale heights, to the PUBG: Battlegrounds universe. Simply put, these are elevators without any walls, ceiling, or floor. Deston also offers new vehicles, such as the Pillar Car, and a ton of new weapons, like the MP9 SMG and the 012 shotgun.
