You’re assuming that they wear that stuff because the government requires it, and not because their employer requires it.
If you ever see any of those guys doing work outside of their jobs (such as for friends, family, or owning their own individual business) you’ll find that 99% of PPE gets left in the truck.

You raise a solid point, but you do so in entirely the wrong subreddit.
The government doesn’t make anyone wear any of that at the gas station or grocery store. In fact, the government doesn’t even make wear anyone a mask. ^(It is not illegal to not wear a mask in the US)
