Elon Musk is worth $265B; UN climate scientists estimate that it would take $300B to stop the rise in greenhouse gas emissions and buy 20 years of time to fix global warming. If you had the power to eliminate Elon Musk and put his fortune towards reversing climate change, why would you/not?

  1. No need to eliminate.
Better if someone could convince him to pay half and then make a tweet and challange the rest of the 20 richest in the world to beat his contribution.

  2. If you were to try to liquidate all of that to actually translate it 1:1 into a new endeavor, that $265B would probably shrink 100-fold. And sure, I’d do it.

  3. Yeah. Earth is a planet that I live on and would like to continue to do so. Mars is a radioactive, dried up, barren wasteland and Elon Musk is welcome to die horribly on its surface.

  4. Best case scenario, the sudden influx of funds would cause inflation which would make 1923’s Germany look like a utopia by comparison. So no that would be a horrible idea

  5. Look at government’s record at actually solving any problem.
How is giving this same bunch of clowns billions more of other people’s money going to solve anything?
UN climate scientists want more money. Shocking.

  6. His stake in Tesla is worth $265B. If he were eliminated, it wouldn’t be worthless but it would lose most of its value immediately. And whether you kept him around or not, when those shares start selling, that will cause the price to drop as well.

That’s the difference between actually having $265B and being worth $265B on paper.

  7. No, idiot. Because that’s not liquid cash it’s the inflated worth of his companies and why would eliminating an innovative set of companies with thousands of jobs help climate change?

  8. Would be funny when people have power to kill Elon Musk and realise that he did not live in a pool of money and that was his net worth which started dropping after his death people started selling their shares.

  9. The amount of jobless people here that want to rob another person’s wealth is truly sad. Get a life and actually contribute something of worth to society instead of just trying to take stuff you have no right to.

  10. He’s working on getting us a plan B. I don’t think he’s really the first billionaire I’d eliminate. Besides, in his search to make Mars a livable, he just might figure out how to save earth at the same time.
