My dad calls them carts too, he’s from Michigan. I grew up calling them buggy’s because we live in Georgia lol
Mine goes on the roof of the corral where it’s supposed to…
It is partly laziness and partly because they see other people doing it so think it is okay. Another example would be double parking with hazard lights blinking.

I’m guessing this is a foreign dialect way of asking why you don’t put the trolleys back. I usually do but I’ll aim for the farthest away collection point.
Having worked at a supermarket, that time spent just collecting the trolleys is absolute bliss. Throw in some headphones and doddle for a couple of hours.
