  1. The video players. They actually loaded the whole thing and didn’t stop the instant the internet fritzed. They also let you replay endlessly.

  2. The excitement of downloading a photo, song, etc. and watching the time of completion go from 5min to 2min to 34min. Pretty much it gave us a reason to let it do its thing, and we get back to real life.

  3. Was calmer. Less was there to see and do. Then it got better fast.
    Chatrooms were fun. ICQ. Nobody could flex because a scanner wasn’t cheap to get your pics into your PC.

    It was fun.

  4. The web used to be a nicer place. Social media brought out the worst in people.

    Also more diversity in websites before large companies wiped out competition.

  5. The non-possibility of knowing it all. I loved the “mystery” that the lack of development and information the early internet had.

    (Dunno if I explained myself clearly haha)

  6. Man, you could spend all day playing games on Neopets or on Runescape with Winamp playing music you got from ***extremely*** questionable websites…
