  1. I think we need to get money out of politics and reduce income inequality, in addition to promoting multi party elections and using things like ranked choice voting.

Civic engagement is the key to maintaining democracy, and social media shows people care plenty, all we need to do is get the politicians to advocate for the interests of the people and be held accountable to them

  2. Nobody wants free and fair elections because the other guys are so corrupt and dangerous they can’t be allowed to have power. I am a huge believer in the principles of republic—defending rights while submitting to will of the majority, etc., but even I have begun to feel this way. It’s a dangerous time.

  3. 1. Vote for actual, pro-democratic representatives. Vote *against* anti-democratic governments.

    2. Volunteer for pro-democratic representatives’ election efforts.

    3. Act against and challenge hate, discrimination and anti-democratic lies.

These don’t have to be huge, life-changing efforts, but if you don’t do them, you get more and more of the likes of Trump and DeSantis.

There is no ‘hack.’ It’s ‘work.’ Anti-democratic forces in the world are *working* and spending billions in their cause – profit and power.

  4. they still havent gotten over the fact that people cant really multitask which is what we have computers for or the fact that what a person is actually capable of doing has more to do with the capacity for them to do it then themselves personally.

    its just man’s arrogance

since the dawn of civilization and agriculture we’ve been trying to use nature against it’s self

    and we really, really cant.

  5. Haha… good luck with that. Funny thing about that is that it isn’t the goverment’s fault that this is happening, it’s still the people who give them the power to do so, at least in “democracy”, and no I’m not talking about revolution or anarchy as a solution. Edzumacatzion be dah zolution, but no one listens… so what’s the point. Keep on truckin’.

  6. Implement direct democracy. I.e. let the public vote on bills to determine which ones pass, or even just which ones get put to a vote in congress/parliament.

This will provide a great bypass to allow the lower class to achieve greater political power without following populist strongmen.

It will also allow better representation of the will of the general public on many issues.

It wasn’t practical back in the 18th century, but it is now via the internet. It can be secured using the standard methods used to secure current online financial services.

  7. > Governments of the world are trending away from democratic rule

No no no, let me tell you again: your party losing the election does not mean we are deviating from democratic rule.
