I wore a new pair of underwear once and went to the bathroom to pee. As I was pulling my underwear back up my thumb slipped off and the elastic band snapped back and whacked me right in the nuts.
I drop everything to my ankles and piss, this way I avoid any awkward urinal conversations with fellow shithouse occupants.
Why wear underwear
I’m very surprised . So far NOBODY uses the hole.
Regular boxers, over the top. Anything athletic spandex type, the hole.
Edit: sometimes I’ll get crazy when I’m feeling lazy and lift up one of the legs of my shorts and go through there. Usually when I’m drunk.
That’s what that flap is for?
It’s coveniant when you’re wearing a tucked in button up you don’t have to untuck and put back (like when you wear a suit ) but besides that…
If I ever have to pee one handed (sports games/concerts with a beer in hand) I use the flap because there’s no elastic band pressure on the junk, assuming you can fish it out. Otherwise, it’s over the top all day using one hand to aim and the other to keep that band down

That flap isn’t really for peeing through. It’s one piece of fabric overlapping another so if you pull your willy through it, it’s going to skew to one side and throw off your aim.
I’d only bother about that if I don’t want to fuss with a belt and fly.
When I’m wearing underwear with the flap hole I use it.
The purpose of the hole is there to adjust to your “bulge”.

Plop over the top. But the underwear flap hole (with a button) is useful for a quick wank.
Hole. Why wouldn’t you? So much more convenient than undoing my belt. Even when not wearing a belt, I see no reason to pull my underwear down to pull my dick over it and then have to pull them back up and shimmy them around to get them just right when instead I could simply pull my dick out the hole and go.
It’s so small it peeks through the hole anyways before I even get a chance to pull my drawers down 🙁

I pull it out thru the leg. Don’t know why. But that’s how I do it most of the time when I have pants on. When I have basketball shorts. It’s over the top
So I think most guys (here at least) go over the top because the holes suck in most underwear. Most seem to have for the “maze” type hole where you have to navigate the snake around a couple of corners.
Whenever I buy underwear I make sure I buy with a two hole button. Always leave the top hole undone and do the bottom one up. Having the top button undone makes it similar to going over the top but you don’t have to go as high/pull your clothes down as much. The bottom button keeps any unwanted escapes during the day.
Since going for the two button meta I don’t go over the top anymore
I pull my entire boxer brief to the side and pee through one of the pulled back underwear legs.
