Have you ever screwed up so bad that there was a sign put up in your honor? What did you do that others needed to be warned to not do?

What do you think?

  1. My old High School had to put a ban on “squirt Guns” because our group decided to all bring super soakers one day and make lunch into a water festival. It was great.

  2. Lame story, but I sometimes play this game called Kerbal Space Program. So one time I wanted to go to this planet named Duna (basically Mars) and I had to do an Apollo-style landing.

The way an Apollo-style landing works is that basically there’s a mothership (something like the Apollo CSM) and a lander (like Apollo LEM) that are part of a rocket. The CSM crew goes to the LEM and land on the moon. They leave the moon and dock again with the CSM and leave the LEM vessel behind to return to Earth.

So basically I made my own version of the CSM (Orion) and the LEM (Starship). This was one of my first attempts on landing on Duna and I had no experience beyond the Mun and Minmus, so figuring out to get there was Hell.

Hours later I finally reached Duna’s SOI and here’s a little context on how I designed the spacecraft. I was using a separate vessel (Stage 2) to reach Duna and none of the fuel from Orion has been used yet. It was time I transfer the kerbals (people) into Starship and that’s when I realized something.

I PUT THE FUCKING STARSHIP ANTENNAS ON THE DOCKING PORT.

At that point, I realized that the mission was already lost and that it was worthless to try to dock with Orion again.

I ended up having Starship stranded in the surface of Duna and Orion being stuck on solar orbit. My family took notice of this and now we have an entire thing we do where if we mention anything related to KSP we start talking about how I keep stranding kerbals over very simple mistakes I do.
