Being able to hide behind a username
Human nature and poor self reflection.
Human nature will always play some role in us being wary of other people who are different from us, but a lack of self reflection means we won’t understand our prejudicial behavior and continue justifying it to ourselves. Self reflection may help us understand our feelings and , instead of justifying them all the time, recognize that our fear or arrogance about people who are different from us is not a good thing and we need the discipline to avoid acting on those feelings.
My undying love for crack
For a lot of people causing someone misery seems to bring them more joy than helping.
It’s just the normal human tendency to believe that problems you don’t face aren’t actually problems, mostly.
Having just got reddit after being on twitter for years I would say this platform can be downright civil ðŸ˜

There is some evidence to show that your political leanings can be genetic… besides that, misinformation… I think most people (but not the most stubborn ones) eventually can come to see the light in most discussions, given enough time to weigh the misinformation against the facts.
