  1. Who knows. And I have an eye condition that makes dealing with insurance *wildly* confusing. Anytime I call my health insurance about anything related to my eyes they want to say “no, we don’t deal with eyes, call your vision insurance” but they certainly do deal with this. It’s ridiculous.

  2. We are a nation of scams. “Nickel and diming” is just one of the techniques used to scam us.

    “Oh sorry, that’s not included in your comprehensive coverage.”

  3. If I had to guess (and I’m not saying I agree with it), I’d say that eyes aren’t directly related to physical health. Even if your insurance doesn’t cover eye exams, they typically still cover eye infections or health concerns (glaucoma). Similarly, they may not cover cleanings but may handle part of an oral surgery bill if it impacts more than just the teeth.
