  1. My family has always had a rule that you have to buy dinner for the whole family with your first paycheck, so we went to Bob Evans and it was my whole paycheck.

It’s to show how expensive the world is and make you appreciate all of the times your parents have taken you to dinner

  2. My first job was cleaning horse stalls for a neighbor when I was in high school in the early 80’s. She didn’t think a high school student without a car should be paid much, so I got 25 cents an hour. My first weeks pay consisted of 5 quarters. I don’t remember what I spent it on. I do remember being livid when, after I quit, she paid a college student $4 per hour for the same work. She was a real sweetheart.

  3. Seeds. I went around the neighborhood with my Radio Flyer wagon as a little kid selling veggies from our garden and then bought more seeds to grow more veggies. It was like I’d discovered this crazy scam and was going to have infinite money.

Didn’t *quite* work out as I hoped but I never really lost the entrepreneurial bug after that.
