How do Jehovah’s Witnesses believe there are only 144,000 spots in heaven and still follow? Does that mean they think they’re in the top most holy 144k ever to live, shouldn’t they not tell people?

  1. they believe that there are two classes of people that will survive Armageddon. The faithful and discreet slave which make up the 144,000 and the rest of the true believers that will inherit the earth restored to garden of Eden status

  2. Born and raised a JW but left as soon as I could. They believe that 144,000 people will go to heaven to rule with God and Jesus. Everybody else, when they die, they’re just dead for now. Soon, like any day now (never mind that it’s been any day now for over 100 years) Armageddon will come. When that happens JWs will survive but all the evil people in the world (in other words, everyone who isn’t a JW) will be permanently destroyed by God. By destroyed, I mean just totally cease to exist and never will again.

Now I’m sure you’re wondering “But what about the people who never even heard of JWs? Surely God wouldn’t destroy them?” That’s why JWs are so big on going and knocking on people’s doors. Armageddon can’t come until every person on earth has heard their message and had a chance to join up. That’s not the end though.

What about all the people who died before Armageddon? For the next thousand years all those people will be brought back to life on earth. They’ll be perfect and taught the JW relgion. Also, all the people who made it through Armageddon will be made perfect too. The earth will become a paradise for everyone as well. Unfortunately, that’s still not the end of their beliefs.

Throughout that thousand years Satan and all the demons will be locked up and unable to meddle in earthly affairs. Now that the earth is a paradise and everybody is perfect, God will unchain the demons and let them tempt everyone one last time. Hey, all those people that got resurrected and taught the JW faith have to prove themselves, right?

So, Satan and his demons get their one last chance to get people to sin. If you sin even once, you die. If you die now, you die and stay dead forever. Just like all the people that died at Armageddon, you just cease to be and everybody else just moves on. After that short period of time (they never really say how short it is, just that it’s short) God will finally totally destroy Satan and the demons. Everyone that makes it through that test gets to live forever on a paradise earth and have pet lions and cobras.

Seriously, even animals will become peaceful and vegetarians. People can still eat animals but animals will just eat plants like they did in the garden of Eden.

If you think all this sounds more than a little nuts, I fully agree with you. You can point out all the holes in everything I just said and you’d be right. I’m not saying I agree with any of this, it’s just what they’re taught.

  3. Don’t quote me, they believe that they will be protected throughout Armageddon and will eventually clean up the aftermath and live on a now perfect earth like God intended. The 144k have already been predetermined, those who no longer exist and have yet to exist could have spots .

The 4 horseman have been here so long though, and the founders kept guessing it would happen in the 80’s or 90’s.

  4. I could be wrong, but I believe the 144k have already been selected, and the rest of us must inherit Earth, however its supposedly our duty to take care of it. Sounds lame, no gay love, 100 virgins or heaven, but hey at least it doesn’t promise us anything stupid.
