Just because the country is rich, doesn’t mean the education system is good, or that the average person cares enough to educate themselves on certain topics.
Propaganda broadcast directly into their homes 24/7.
They listen to Donald Trump vent.
Because a vast majority of the wealth is held by a very small minority, and it is not in their interests to have a well educated populace

Exactly that. Wealth does not breed intelligence. It allows ease.
And for the record, Russia has the dumbest and drunkest people alive.
Luxuries makes people lazy.

Funny how you think these go together. Much of why this country has been so successful has been by keeping the bulk of the population under educated.

United States isn’t even in the top 5 for richest country in the world…
There’s no need for an entirely competent population, only a sufficient elite, followed by a middling number of competent production integrals, and then a major large trained labour force.

You would think the last decade would be a scathing indictment of the US public schooling system, but here we fucking are.
