If it was decided that all countries would be abolished and the entire earth would be one unified political body, what would be the capital city of Earth?

Geneva, Switzerland

It’s Washington DC, I saw it on a documentary about the future. Nixon’s head is president of Earth, sponsored by the delicious taste of Charleston Chew.

No capitals, no states, no borders. Only humanity.
It would have to be a city that’s:
– Easily accessed by water so that ships can go in and out. So, a port city of some kind.
– Close to natural resources, particularly food.
– Close to a source of renewable electricity that would be difficult to just blow up, such as a river or dam.
– Secure and safe from attack. Ironically, this means that a port city works against this.
– Culturally significant to as many cultures as possible.
– Have access to some sort of “backup plan.” Bunkers, ways in and out of the city, military bases, etc.
The cities in the U.S. that are on the Great Lakes (Chicago, Buffalo, Detroit, Cleveland, and Milwaukee) would fit the criteria of being both port cities and safe from naval attacks. However, they are not culturally significant to the world at large.
I’m thinking that something along the lines of those cities elsewhere in the world would make a for a better global capital. Maybe somewhere in the Mediterranean, where every ship has to go through either the Straight of Gibraltar, or the Suez Canal, and we know how to block the Suez Canal if we have to.
Yo mamma’s house
If it were up to me? Las Vegas.
Great Cockup, UK. That way if we ever meet aliens they can be like, “Yup, you got that right” about our whole damn species.
hmmm, i would choose a city at the center of:
– most representational population
– most populous
– most democratic
– most defensible
Mecca
(ask a stupid question… )
Build an Island in the center of the Pacific Ocean. Name it Freedonia. Make every meeting be required to happen there. Don’t give it an airport.
Done.
The worlds biggest city would be the moste fair in my opinion
Depends on what organization abolished countries.
The summit of Mount Everest if climate change keeps accelerating
New York, obviously
Depends on who wins. Who knows maybe it’ll be one of those internet vote things and capital mccityface would end up being the new capital.
London, most diverse city, loads of football teams and great kebabs.
The Vatican
Sophia, West Virginia.
Swansea, innit?
Constantinople.
A currently uninhabited island somewhere where there can be no claim by the citizens of any previous country that they “won” or to feel superior (or inferior) over anyone else.
Amsterdam
It should be some random island
The Moon.
A brand new mega city in Greenland
The Hague
All the different former countries wouldn’t be able to decide and then go to war with each other over where it would be, thus reforming the concept of nations and defeating the whole concept. Your question literally ruined world peace for everyone. As punishment, future humans build an entire city named after you and burn it to the ground.
Sheboygan, Wisconsin
The Documentary, “Futurama”, shows us that Washington D.C. is the capital of Earth, as well as capital world of the Government of Earth and the inter-galactic headquarters of the Democratic Order of Planets (DOOP).
There’s a place called Jacks Hole in Ireland and I think it should be there. That way all the decisions would come from Jacks Hole.
