Talking Heads
Tears For Fears or Duran Duran. But it seems that Rick Astley has won.
Motley Crue for sure.
Depeche mode
Depeche Mode
Huey Lewis and the News
Bon Jovi, and I will die on that hill
Genesis
Rick Astley
Flock of seagulls
Huey Lewis and The News.
Michael Jackson or Madonna, if we’re allowing single performers.
If we’re interpreting “band” literally, I humbly submit ZZ Top. Not only were they everywhere in the 80s in music, they also appeared in one of the decade-defining movie trilogies.
Guns N Roses
Duran duran
The outfield. Amazing song and the only good song they ever did. One hit wonders.
REO Speedwagon
Metallica
hall and oates for the win!
*edit* the rick astley answers – ayfkm? he only appeared at the very ass end of it and what he really is is a product of the stock aitken and waterman sound
Hall & oates
Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Not the best band by any means, but very representative of what the 80s were like.
NWA
Duran duran. If only for the video clips.
Van Halen, comes in as a late 70 semi experimental version of Arena rock, Perfects Synth rock in 1984, gets overly bloated and convoluted to end the decade as a slicker more polished but not as enjoyable version.
Queen
DEVO
Duran Duran. The last pop band with musical and songwriting chops.
Big queen fan.
The Bee Gees
Prince
Steve Winwood
