If you hired a licensed petsitter to come feed your cat wet food, change water & dry food, & feed your fish while you’re out of town ($20/visit), but the woman is not the one coming to your house to do these things (per your doorbell camera, which shows it’s some man), would you be upset?

What do you think?

  1. Yep. I hired a specific person based on their specific qualifications. Sending someone else, regardless of their relationship to the person I hired, without discussing it with me previously is a major violation of trust.

  2. I’d be extremely upset. Especially if you don’t know the man and it was not agreed upon that she might have her employee/husband/friend/brother/etc. stop by and feed in case she’s not able to and you agreed to it. If you hired a service rather than an individual than that would be different being you might not know who you have coming by but if you hired a specific person and she’s not the one showing up then yes. I’d be very upset.

  3. Ehh, did she specifically say she was going to do it? Or does she have a company that does it. If it’s the company than no, you may of believed she was the only employee, but she could have others. If there is an issue of you paid her to do it, but she has someone else doing it then I might have an issue. If you paid a person with a license to do a job, and they sent someone unlicensed to come do it, that may be worth a call to who ever issued the license.

  4. How is this person getting into the house? That would honestly be the part that I’d be pissed about. Seems she either passed off a code or password without your permission. If it was somewhere else and this person was helping because they were living in the same space I would feel differently. I feel this person is entering your hone without your permission and would follow up with the pet sitter sooner rather than later.

  5. If they’re a professional, wouldn’t that mean the man is probably one of their employees? Why not just call and ask before getting upset.

    That’s what I’d do anyway.

  6. I would be yes. I have gone to feed somebody’s cat and I asked her beforehand if it was okay that my sister would sometimes take over for me. She should have mentioned it.

  7. Probably, because…
    1) I don’t know the man
    2) I didn’t ask the man to come to my house
    3) I mean as long as somebody is doing it, who cares, give them the $20. But to let someone else do it for you without asking the hone owner is just weird.

  8. *”Your honor, I did not hire this man. I hired Keller & Keller’s firm for this matter. I demand both Kellers immediately or I will post on reddit.”*

  9. Why in the hell did you post this?

I literally completed my meeting with my petsitter all of 2 hours ago and now I’m starting to question things.

    Curse you!
