Pull all my stocks before the Great Depression.
All you would have to do is think of some very simple products/processes that became massively popular and didn’t exist yet then. Pretty easy really when you think about it because you would start thinking of things you wish you had or could do but can’t find.
I was thinking, if I got in this situation, I could make smart investments to get rich, but then I realized, I really have no idea what would have been a smart investment in 1922.
Was also thinking I could introduce technology from today back then, but I also have no idea how to actually make modern technology.
Hopefully some of you would benefit more from the situation than me
I’m a computer engineer, and even if I couldn’t explain someone how exactly to make a transistor or precise details of a lot of things, I could still get research to focus in particular directions: moving away from tubes into semiconductors, developing programmable computers and languages, understanding cryptography and the basic concepts of how an enigma machine works, basic airplane designs which have been proven to work, television and telephony technology…. all of that would strongly accelerate research and development and availability of the end products.
Plus having a basic idea which companies were profitable at the time, and when major events would make markets move.
I know alot of formations for football that would be useful I know alot of song lyrics that would be easy to be a legit songwriter shit I could probably work my way into directing movies also
I am a computer scientist. I know how a lot of encryptions work, which will come in handy for WW2. Probably so much so that I could end the war within a year. Could also probably get the ball rolling on computers but the manufacturing methods at the time would limit me a lot.
Well there is that big stock market crash starting ’29 or so. I suppose I could go all Mike Burry on that. More generally, I might see names in the news that I recognize, except they would be like start-up companies. Maybe I could help people avoid polio.
