People who donate their hard-earned cash to streamers who are many dozens of times richer than you, how do you justify this in your minds?

They provide a product that I am consuming. Why do I buy tickets to a sports game to watch athletes who are way richer than me. Why do I buy movie tickets to watch actors who are way richer than me…
I don’t pay content creators, but I would imagine it’s the same thing as buying tickets to go see a wealthy singer, wealthy athlete, or wealthy actor excel at their craft.
Because they produce content I consume regularly. I only sub to people I watch daily and I feel like it’s no more than fair to do so. I only give what I can miss anyway and I don’t think I’ve subbed to anyone who is “dozens of times richer” than me. Only smaller streamers personally (big fan of engagement)
In the case of case of the streamer and part time F1 driver Lando Norris, any money he makes on streams go to charity.
It’s been about 2 years since I’ve last done that, but one single word: attention.
Every time I buy a beer, or a coke, or… literally anything, I am giving money to an entity that has much more money than me.
People do all kinds of dumb shit when in the grip of a [parasocial relationship](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasocial_interaction).
I only donate to hot lady streamers because I hope they will date me
I donate to paymoneywubby on twitch a lot, mainly just to see his reaction to what ever I sent. If you’re clever you can really make him laugh or outraged and it’s a really fun way to soend five bucks
Metallica VS Napster
Usually for trolling. Last twitch dono was to Artosis for smiling one time lol…
If you enjoy their content, it also might be worth tipping them.
I have bought a cosmetic from a free game once. Did i need that cosmetic? No, did the company need my money? Not really, but i had gotten a lot of joy from that game and i wanted to give at least something. I imagine it is similar with streamers.
Something about seed money…
That stuff has been going on with “streamers” since long before the internet was a household fixture.
