People who don’t use headphones in public or talk on the phone with speakerphone, why the fuck do you do this?

My favorate are the people who use their speakerphone but hold it 2 inches from their face and look at the phone as they talk. I wish they would talk about something interesting at least, like medical results, or who is cheating on who.
Shout out to you assholes that play music on a speaker at hiking spots too. Like anyone asked you to DJ the fucking wilderness 🖕🏾
Because I’m the main character of my movie and everyone else is just some extra.
(Obligatory I’m not a monster, but presumably this is the thought process)
Because they’re asking us to run them over with a truck
while working in grocery, ive had people walk through the store with music playing on their phone speaker. if grocery store music wasnt bad enough, the out of context sound of those high hats certainly finishes the job
dramatic flair/ need for attention/ heightened sense of self importance/disregard for societal norms
Old vet with hearing aids due to service injury here. I have a Bluetooth doodad that puts the phone output directly to my hearing aid, but my hearing fluctuates some days and it doesn’t always work. I do try to go outside or off to a corner to use my speaker phone because I know it’s fucking annoying and I look like a maniac Simpsons character doing it.
They either lack self awareness, or don’t give 2 craps. I just assume that if you’re going to blast your conversation then I’m invited to add my 2 cents.
Looking at the (several) times this question has been asked before – many people said they have hearing issues and only hear well when using both ears.
I haven’t seen a good explanation for why people play music on a phone in public. It’s usually bad music from a bad-sounding device in a place where you don’t want sound at all. Most annoying for me is on quiet forest trails (people actually do this).
Why do people think they’re going to get actual answers to questions like this? Stop it with the Reddit karma circlejerk.
I would never do this but will at home sometimes because I have some pretty severe selective hearing issues and hearing a conversation with both years really helps out. If it’s a conference call or teleconference call I cannot do that with just one ear, especially if Im doing things on the computer at the same time.
My headphones are broke 🤣🤣🤣
They got small wieners and wana look important, it’s called peacocking
Same as dero, criminal looking scum that play shithouse music loud in public like anyone wants to hear their awful music tastes.
The speaker thing is when I can’t disconnect my Bluetooth headphones so I just say “fuck it, I Don’t know these people”

They’re usually old and don’t know how to get Bluetooth to pair to their iPhone
