  1. Not a funeral but a memorial because he died during lockdown in rural australia so about a year later (this year) we held a memorial which was strictly no kids under 10.

People brought their very little kids and one ate something his stomach didn’t agree with and he vomited everything out over the rest of the food causing some with weak stomachs to also vomit. My brother and I left asap

  2. At my daughter’s grandma’s funeral, the minister didn’t really know her and had very little to say about her. He didn’t even do what you would think of as a generic Christian funeral. He just kind of rambled and talked about a new church he was starting. It was basically about him. One relative went up and said a few things about her, but that was it. She was also not made up well or positioned well in the casket (it was a bit too small for her, which didn’t help) so she looked weird and uncomfortable. It just sucked.

  3. At my fathers funeral, my brother was going through that emo goth phase in high school and was in a “band”……. 6 different girls in powerslut 5000 outfits showed up because funerals were so dark and goth. My dads mom, 85, about had a stroke. My mom went fucking ballistic along with a few other old school Christian members of the family. These girls had never even met my dad. I wouldn’t really say it was ruined but holy fuck was it awkward

  4. The priest repeatedly said the wrong name at my grandmother’s funeral. She’d had severe dementia and hadn’t actually been to the church in years so he definitely didn’t know her, which was expected. After the 5th time he called her Elizabeth my father spoke up and said, “her name was Jane.” It was pretty cringey
