The tiny adrenaline boost you get from putting yourself in small danger is sometimes the most exciting thing that happens all day.

I’ve heard in bad neighborhoods ppl hide in the alleys and wait for passerbys, so maybe that’s why.
I dont do it myself but I would imagine they do it because they are cunts

If there’s someone walking a large dog, or a group of people taking up most of the sidewalk, I will move to the street just to get around them.

I’d also like to know why those who walk in the street *with* the flow of traffic rather than against it do so. You’re just trusting that the person whose lane you’re in sees you and, if they don’t, have no way of knowing until you’re under their tires.

Because I’m in the neighborhood and if people are speeding, I exist to make them slow the fuck down. This is the right thing to do, and I will never stop doing it
I do it because the street is flatter and smooth. There are many areas of sidewalk lifted by roots and settling, so at my age the street is safe.
