What if God was part of an older universe full of others like him and he got tired of being treated as inferior and unexceptional, so he wiped out his universe and then created another one full of dumber beings whose lives he could control in an attempt to soothe his wounded ego?

I like to think that we are some kind of experiment in n round bowl on an alien kid’s bedside table, and he probably forgot about it.
I don’t know about actively wiping out a universe. But what about being from a previous universe that had succumbed to heat death?

I think this describes the Christian god perfectly.
A “creator” who creates people who do the OPPOSITE OF the things he wants them to do, then gets pissed at them about it…instead of taking the blame for his own flawed design and manufacturing process.

He does seem awfully petulant. If we don’t place ultimate faith and total devotion in him and praise him and act like we’re children or sheep around him, he’ll roast the fuck out of our souls and give us unimaginable torment and ultimate agony for eternity, and if he doesn’t hold up his end of the deal there isn’t anything we can do about it. WTF! What a nasty, vindictive, insecure, treacherous piece of work. That sounds exactly like what Trump would do if he could make himself god.
Kind of reminds me of Brian Keene’s Labyrinth Mythos. To create the current multiverse, including our world, God destroyed the previous reality to use the energy and raw materials. A handful of beings survived from the previous reality, and they are REAL pissed at God, traveling from reality to reality destroying his creations.

In some ancient pre-judean texts, there are passages describing the storm diety yahweh superseding and demoting all the other gods of his pantheon and establishing himself as the supreme diety, so not that far off
According to The Bible there are lots of other gods. So this wouldn’t make a lot of sense.
