If they get their information from the news and social media they think all Americans are extremists, one side full of hate for the other. That is completely untrue. There are a few on the far ends making most of the noise. Most Americans are middle of the road, hard working citizens. We pay our bills, respect the law and get along with each other.
That what some Americans (especially the GOP) call socialism is more like basic modern rights in other countries
Tipping workers because their employers intentionally underpays them. Those employees then take it out on customers for not tipping when they should complaining to their greedy bosses.
Rich government and poor people don’t mix.
We specify the town we are from because if we say we are from the US that could mean literally anywhere. So no we don’t say it because we expect you to know where that is, we are just saying it because the US spans so many miles and has so many different climates we have to make that distinction.

Why we don’t have better/more consistent public transport. Too much distance involved and too many municipalities.

America is huge and takes like a week to travel coast to coast by car in the US.
Only one thing?
We are almost like 50 different countries, we just mostly speak the same language (roughly). Any city you go to will be so different that we can usually identify where someone is from almost instantly by how they talk and carry themselves.
Diversity. Of climate and landscape. And of people: cultural, ethnic, political, religious etc. White Christian conservatives may be vocal on social media but are a minority, especially in most cities.
That we are more than just united states, everybody things america is EEUU, bro there is North America, Central America and South America
There is a lot of diversity :3
It has its problems but it’s far from this dystopian hellscape that Reddit would lead you to believe. Life is pretty good for the average person.
