  1. Bojack Horseman. The most obvious endings were either “everything is great and they lived happily ever after” or “everything is awful and miserable”, neither of which would have been satisfying. Instead, they managed to thread the needle perfectly, delivering something that is bittersweet and sad but ultimately hopeful, perfectly capturing the series’ themes and emotions.

  2. I was down for the Supernatural ending. Both boys got what they wanted in the end and it was so good to see certain characters again. I’m welling up just thinking about it. For a show that dragged on for a bit too long, they finished it well.

  3. Breaking Bad. I was actually kind of mad about the Jesse movie. His arc ended SO WELL at the end of season 5. The movie was entirely unnecessary and redundant

  4. So I don’t know if Metal Gear Solid 4 counts per se, because Konami went on to make more MGS games after Kojima left. And I’d be hard pressed to say that MGS4 isn’t a game with messy fucking storytelling all over the place.

But fuck me if the final boss fight vs. Ocelot isn’t an *immensely* satisfying tie-up for the Kojima MGS games. How each different phase represented a different game in the series both in terms of the combat, the UI, the music. Still gives me chills just thinking about it.
