Mirror’s Edge. Such a clever concept but drowned under lots of other AAA releases.
Dragon’s Dogma
Two immediately come to mind:
* Killzone (a Playstation exclusive); and
* Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
Legend of Dragoon
Enslaved: Odyssey to the west
Sunset Overdrive.
Cry Of Fear
Inside
Prey
Spartan Total Warrior.
It should at least get a remastered version.
Ah time to post my favorite video game again. [Lost Odyssey](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Odyssey)
God Hand
One if not the best beat em up ever made, created by the authors of Okami and Bayonetta but panned because was hard, weird and not serious.
West of loathing. It’s fucking hilarious, but almost no one knows what it is.
The Lunar series. Please make #3, I’ve been waiting so long…too bad the Game Art’s guy responsible for them is gone…ughhh.
Lego Star Wars III: The clone wars
I haven’t seen anyone talk about it, but its an old game for the xbox 360
Ogre battle 64. It was an uncommon style of gameplay combined with an uncommon brand. It had a limited release and back when n64 games cost $60 I regularly saw it for $75 when stores did have one. I rented it and loved it and eventually found it cheaper and got it. One of my top n64 games but basically unknown to many.
SSX 3 (tricky gets all the love)
I think the Ratchet & Clank franchise is a bit under the radar for many gamers. They have great ratings, but I always felt like it’s overshadowed by other PS exclusive IPs
Beyond Good & Evil. Ubisoft made a fun, stylish adventure game with a unique story angle, gave it a cliffhanger ending for a presumed trilogy, garnered solid critical acclaim, and then *fucking vanished.*
Every few years someone at Ubisoft comes out and says they’re finally, definitely, this-time-for-sure developing the sequel. But the original has been out for almost 20 years now. Any built-in audience has long-since moved on, and any new players going back to try the first one are going to find the mechanics dated.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky trilogy. Took forever to get localized and it’s sitting in a purgatory where hardcore JRPG fans adore it, but a lot of the mainstream JRPG audience hasn’t noticed it.
Pikmin! It’s somehow both wholesome and slightly horrific at the same time. Some of the death animations, good lord Nintendo…
Tf2
Code vein, it really is a good game with solid mechanics and a particularly interesting story
Titanfall 2. Its one of my favorite games but it got released right in-between two other major titles and sorta slipped through the cracks.
Just Cause 3. Great story, fun gameplay mechanics, but it was overlooked due to other games that released back hen too.
Sword of the Stars is my go-to choice for questions like that. How many 4X games are there where each race has its own unique method of interstellar? Granted, some are similar, but no two are exactly alike, and that defines the play style.
As an example, one race can only move from one star to another using predetermined tunnels. It’s one of the fastest methods in the game, but it also depends on the randomly-generated map, so a star that’s physically close can be difficult to get to because there no direct path to it.
Another race doesn’t even have any means of FTL. Instead they use static gates for one-turn travel between any two gates. But the gates first have to be taken there using slower-than-light means.
A third race has a more typical “go anywhere” hyperdrive, but it’s not as fast as the race that uses tunnels.
A fourth race can also go anywhere, but their method doesn’t even involve Newtonian motion (plus their ships are filled with water, since they’re aquatic). Instead they teleport their ships a small distance hundreds or thousands of times per second, so it looks like they’re moving to the naked eye. This also allows them to “move” faster-than-light since relativity doesn’t apply and they’re not actually moving at any given moment. But their ships are significantly slower near planets, limiting their maneuverability.
Add to that a randomly-generated tech tree, a ship editor, and tons of different weapons, and you got a decent game
Boomerang. It was a game that came on a floppy disk for my Amiga.
Zombie Army Trilogy.
Would pop up cheap occasionally, and it’s an absolute blast with two or three friends co-op.
New one is not as good in my opinion.
I made this post because kameo and the elements of power. It was a amazing hidden gem that definitely deserved a sequel but never got one
Battlerite
Mark of Kri
Arras.io. One of the best .io games that are still receiving updates.
Planescape: Torment
I’m not sure if it was that the game concept was too original for people to get, or the marketing wasn’t great, or what. It was a CRPG where your character class and stats were determined how you played the game.
Great story, lots of replay ability.
