Leather bag. The person who gave it to me spent a lot of money on it and thought it was a perfect gift. I hate leather products.
My mum didn’t get me an Christmas present. She did get me a gigantic discount Turkey the next day though. We live in Australia so roasted Turkey is not a hit as it can be super hot during Xmas.
1st grade 1997 my first ever secret Santa. I went all out and spent 10 of my own dollars and got my pick hotwheels. Comes the day and the kid who got mine is super excited and loving them and I am excited for mine. Open it up to a pair of used size 14 house shoes. Even if I had kept them 24 years later and they still wouldn’t fit me.

One thing was as a kid, I got a “rod”/ bunch of sticks with some candy. My mom found it cute but she forgott one crucial thing and it hunted me even now as an adult: it was for “Nikolaus” – in germany we celebrate it on 6th of december. And kids are told at a very young age that such a rod is only for the bad children. When I got this I cried so so much, I felt devasteted absolutely not knowing why I deserved it. Recently we brought it up – my mom genuinely didn’t know and I misunderstood her intentions because I didn’t know better when I was like 6yo.
Second one several years back I bought a book that I actually didn’t like, I found the beginning rather boring – friend of mine liking the series didn’t know and bought be the 2nd book. xD It was bad but bless her, I still own it. One day I may get back to it. (Didn’t dare to tell her either, she just made a mistake without knowing.)
I was talking to my mum about how I think I’m turning into an alcoholic. For my birthday she got me a bottle of vodka and a 6 pack.
