One of those little hammers that can break the window, if you went into water and got trapped.

I have a rechargeable flashlight that plugs into the outlet. Comes in handy from time to time.

a multitool knife with a glass breaker, a seatbelt cutter, and a serrated edge going halfway up the blade. I have one of those on me at all times. it’s just useful in general
Turn signals.
The thing is, most cars already have them!
A pen and notepad. Accidents happen and taking down information can be very important. Less needed in the smartphone world, but still important.
A roadside emergency kit. This would include a small shovel, a bag of kitty litter (for traction on the tires), jumper cables, and a small air compressor. There’s other things like road flares or whatever, but you get the idea.
Spare tire.
Ejector seat.
My BMW came with indicators as standard. I always assumed they must have been an over priced option
Make a spare key. Give it to your partner, roomate, parent or best friend. If you lock yourself out they can help you instead of paying a service to try. If you want to save some money just get a blade copied without any of the tech. Then your person can’t use your key except on the door.
