  1. I get it and have no problem with it whatsoever but I’m always going to get take out and eat on my couch instead of in the restaurant, I don’t know why you wouldn’t do that.

  2. I seriously don’t get this concern. Where are people getting this expectation that eating needs to be a social activity. I’ve never had any “thoughts” about solo dining because it’s no different than dining with someone else.

  3. I don’t mind it. As a server I like it cause if you seem friendly I’ll joke around with just you and get to know you.

As for just me going out to eat I don’t mind it either. After a long shift or if I’m just looking to not make food at home, it doesn’t bother me to go alone. Don’t have to wait on anybody else or try and work with their schedules.

  4. Dude its great. I went to eat the other week on my own no wife and kids. Grabbed some hot and sour soup, teppanyaki, and a nice pina colada. In and out at the bar in 30 mins.

    No fuss.

  5. I don’t have a problem with it. I often bring a book for company. It requires a certain kind of quiet confidence, though, or it can be slightly intimidating. Especially if people give you curious looks.

  6. Dude, the ability to sit in a restaurant and enjoy my meal without small talk or children babbling at me is like the best feeling in the world. I love my wife and love going to dinner with her, but there is a peacefulness in a silent meal at the bar that I can’t get anywhere else.
