  1. “Life IS pain. Anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something”.

Despite the entire movie being eminently quotable, this will always be my favorite because it’s like the perfect “Carlin Joke”. Carlin’s whole thing wasn’t to “tell jokes”, it was to simply point out things that should have been obvious, yet somehow weren’t to the vast majority of the audience.

That quote is maybe the shortest most succinct version of that.

  2. Not favorite but a good line from lost city.
Brad pitt comes to save sandra bollock ans she asks him why hes so handsome he says ” my fathers a weather man” I dont think ive ever laughed so hard at a movie line!

  3. You get hurt, hurt ’em back…you get killed, walk it off

    Captain America ♡

It literally makes no sense at first, but it’s something that seriously resonates with me <3

  4. Gordon Gekko – I don’t do lunch, lunch is for wimps (Wallstreet 1987)

A quote by the main villain of the show that caused lunch reservations around the Wallstreet area in NY to decline by 20%

  5. One of these two:
“Janet: Well, now, you don’t really approve of murder, Rupert? If I may?

Rupert Cadell: You may… and I do. Think of the problems it would solve: unemployment, poverty, standing in line for theatre tickets… .” – Rope

“When I become Mormon you can all be my wives” – Hard Rock Zombies

  6. “Sir, you are a cowardly son of a bitch! You just shot an unarmed man!”

“He should’ve armed himself if he’s gonna decorate his saloon with my friend!”

  7. :You watch those nature documentaries on the cable? You see the one about lions? You got this lion. He’s the king of the jungle, huge mane out to here. He’s laying under a tree, in the middle of Africa. He’s so big, it’s so hot. He doesn’t want to move. Now the little lions come, they start messing with him. Biting his tail, biting his ears. He doesn’t do anything. The lioness, she starts messing with him. Coming over, making trouble. Still nothing. Now the other animals, they notice this. They start to move in. The jackals; hyenas. They’re barking at him, laughing at him. They nip his toes, and eat the food that’s in his domain. They do this, then they get closer and closer, bolder and bolder. Till one day, that lion gets up and tears the shit out of everybody. Runs like the wind, eats everything in his path. Cause every once in a while, the lion has to show the jackals, who he is.” Christopher Walker, Poolhall Junkies.

This quote always fires me up before sports and the gym.
