I’d say Florence Nightingale. Alternatively, one of my ancestors during the English Civil War defended a castle with just 30 old, wounded and infirm people against an army of 3000 whilst her husband was away. She held out for 2 months, killed and wounded hundreds and was able to negotiate the surrender of the castle with her head held high.
