Would you support a law that sets Congresspeople’s pay to the median household income of the previous year? Why or why not?

  1. I would support it so long as that was tied to their state, not the federal. They should be representing their own state fully. Also I personally think they should be paid the median individual rather than household rate, since they are individuals.

  2. I have absolutely zero problem with congress getting paid more than the average household. The pay isn’t the problem, it’s the fucking lobbying, bribes, and other forms of “compensation” to influence them to make laws that are favorable to those paying the “compensation”.

  3. Yes because I think that’s more than generous when they are working in “public service”. You would think the term implies that they won’t gain any money from the work but would at least have basic living taken care of as a form of compensation

  4. Yes. We would have less power/money hungry people and more people who are doing it because they care and understand what the general public is going through. Less rose tinted glasses.
