TIL that during the production of Ghostbusters (1984), the name wasn’t allowed to be used since it was already used by 70’s kids show called “The Ghost Busters.” As a result, there were alternatives names, with one of them being “Ghostsmashers”. Eventually, the studio got the rights to the name.

TIL when auditioning for That 70s Show, which was seeking actors at least 18 years old, 14-year-old Mila Kunis told the casting directors that she would be 18 on her birthday (but neglected to specify the year). They eventually discovered her age but felt she was the best fit for the role.

TIL In the early 70’s the United States sought to make Day Light Savings permanent for two years as a way to combat an energy crisis. It didn’t last long however as Americans didn’t like going to work and school in the dark during the winter months. It didn’t last the planned 2 years.
