1 Comment TIl the US strategic petroleum reserves are stored in underground caverns carved out of salt. Salt does not react with the oil and is self-healing. 3 Comments TIL the Agongointo-Zoungoudo Underground Town in Benin was rediscovered in 1998 when an unsuspecting bulldozer toppled into one of the caverns.
