TIL St. Louis Bread Company is referred to as Panera outside of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The name change to Panera came about in 1997 during the company’s interstate expansion. It continues to operate as Saint Louis Bread Company in the Greater St. Louis area, where it has over 100 locations

TIL that in 1996 Philadelphia TV station WPVI changed it’s news theme for the first time since 1972. The viewer feedback was so negative that the station reverted back to the original 1972 theme after only 3 days. The station continues to use the 1972 theme today.

TIL the size labeling of camera chips does not match their actual size. Rather it describes the diameter of the vacuum tube the chip would fit, which makes it about a third smaller. This continues despite video camera tubes basically being obsolete today.
