TIL that Mewing is a form of “orthotropics” where you can supposedly change the shape of your jawline by the placement of your tongue in your mouth. John Mew coined the idea and was recently stripped of his dental license.

TIL Before being an actor Danny Kaye was an insurance investigator but lost the job when he lost the insurance company $40,000. Kaye was later fired from working in a dentist office when he was caught using a dental drill on the office woodwork. Kaye later eloped with dentist’s daughter Sylvia Fine.

TIL of the Vipeholm Experiments in Sweden. In the 1950s, intellectually disabled people were fed sweets to see whether sugar caused cavities. While unethical, this study greatly contributed to what we know about dental health.
