TIL that Euclid’s “Elements” is considered as the most influential textbook ever written. From its publication until the 20th century, virtually all educated people read it. The only things we know about its author are the city (Alexandria, Egypt) and the times (c. 300 BCE) in which Euclid lived.

TIL of Iqbal Masih, a Pakistani boy who was sold into child labor when he was 4. After two escape attempts, he became educated and helped free 3,000 other kids in Pakistan from child labor. In 1995, He was murdered by the carpet mafia when he was 12.
