TIL about the “3-S Treatment” which stands for “Shoot Shovel and Shut up” a method used primarily in rural areas to prevent restrictions being place upon owned land due to the presence of Endangered Species by killing them and burying the evidence before they could be discovered by the government.

TIL that to save the bumblebees, a California court ruled bees to be classified as fish because insects aren’t covered by the endangered species act. The request for “bees are fish” was considered in 2019 and recently passed.

TIL that Orcas can take down Blue Whales. The first time humans documented orcas, or killer whales, successfully hunting and eating an endangered blue whale, the largest animal that’s ever lived, was in March 2019, when a large pod attacked, suffocated, killed an adult Blue Whale, caught on photo.

TIL one species of redwood tree is deciduous (Loses its leaves and changes color). The Dawn Redwood was thought to be extinct for millions of years and is an endangered species.
