TIL the Apollo 10 Mission was a dress rehearsal for the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. Astronauts Stafford and Cernan descended to about 8 miles above the moon. The lunar module they flew was capable of landing, but their mission was to photograph the landing site for Armstrong and Aldrin two months later.

TIL The baby Sacajawea carried for 2000 miles was Jean Baptiste Charbonneau. He was delivered by Meriwether Lewis, raised by William Clark, lived in a German castle for six years, spoke four languages, was a military scout, fur tapper and gold miner. He’s buried in an Oregon ghost town.

TIL in 1981 American Airlines offered a “lifetime unlimited AAirpass” for a lifetime of free first class flights for $250k. You could get an additional lifetime pass for a companion for an extra $150k. Two of their most frequent fliers cost the airline $1m a year and flew over 30m miles.
