Today I learned about Frank Emmanuel Petersen Jr, the first black Marine Corp Aviator and General. Tomorrow is the anniversary of Peterson being promoted to brigadier general in 1979. The navy currently has a Arleigh-Burke class destroyer named after him the ship’s motto is “Into the Tiger’s Jaw!”
