TIL Joey Ramone was in remission from lymphoma, but his lifelong OCD led him to go back to his chiropractor to see if he closed the door right. He slipped on ice and broke his hip, forcing him out of chemo to recover, which ultimately lead to the lymphoma reemerging and ultimately killing him.

TIL After Col. Shaw died in battle, Confederates buried him in a mass grave as an insult for leading black soldiers. Union troops tried to recover his body, but his father sent a letter saying “We would not have his body removed from where it lies surrounded by his brave and devoted soldiers.”
