TIL that the Queen Alexandra’s birdwing (Ornithoptera alexandrae) is the largest species of butterfly in the world, with females reaching wingspans slightly in excess of 25 cm to 28 cm . It is endangered and is restricted to Eastern Papua New Guinea. There is sexual dimorphism in this species.

TIL The use of torture was heavily restricted by the Spanish Inquisition. A doctor had to certify that the prisoner was healthy enough for torture, which could only be applied for 15 minutes. Torture couldn’t be used to obtain a confession, nor was it allowed to draw blood or leave permanent damage.
